Description

The Category Manager manages the assortment for select categories and perform operational functions supporting the buying team as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Help curate the category and brand assortments, seasonal selection of inventory for Cannabis Categories including but not limited to vapes, edibles, tinctures, topical, and accessories
  • Generate, maintain, and follow through on all purchase orders such as vendor delivery, samples and delivery issues etc.
  • Load images into system accurately and efficiently to go live on the website
  • Research brands and products when needed for all opportunistic buys
  • Communicate frequently with vendors both verbally and via e-mail
  • Prepare reports when needed to identify any issues as it relates to vendor delays and/or potential customer delivery delays
  • Elevate production issues to manager, work for resolution and execute the determined course of action. Must have ability to act promptly
  • Organize and maintain digital files, samples and all necessary paperwork from vendors
  • Provide other operational duties as necessary

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-4 years of purchasing or merchandising experience, preferably in the cannabis industry but not required
  • Knowledge and/or ability to use POS and order management systems
  • Retail distribution, ecommerce, and marketplace experience a plus
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check
  • Valid identification to work in the US
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication
  • Proficiency in technology software, desktop electronics, MS Office
  • Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet applications
  • Phone and logistics experience (preferred)
  • Must be proactive and solution oriented with a positive attitude
  • Strong multi-tasker and able to work in a fast-paced environment
